Homeward

Over four years, Teleportal, a group of artists, has collaborated virtually to make art and organize exhibitions around the world. Working from their respective places in Asia, South America, the United States, and Europe, the artists generated individual pieces based on a prompt for theirprevious exhibitions, but for this one, they collaborated on a unified work of art.

Homeward is a collection of individual quilts sewn together. Each artist explored what home meant to them and found commonality. Through this collaborative and vulnerable process, they shared memories of loss and love, protection and pain, family dinners and new relationships, split identities and homes spread across the globe. At a time when it is easier to find things that divide us, Homeward accepts the differences and embraces similarities to share in this universal experience of home.
